A plywood machine isn't a single device, but rather a complete production line of industrial equipment. It works together to peel, dry, glue, press, and cut raw logs into durable, engineered plywood sheets.
Components
Heat - Controlling Components in Hot Presses
Heating Elements: Heating elements, such as 316L stainless - steel heating tubes, are vital in hot presses for plywood production. These heating tubes, with a high temperature resistance of up to 250℃, are used to provide the necessary heat for the bonding process of plywood layers.
Temperature Control Systems: The temperature control system is another critical part. The center layers are known as the veneer core. In plywood with five or more plies, the intermediate layers are known as the crossbands. The outer layers of plywood are face veneer, and some will be laminated with melamine.
Plywood can be made from hardwoods, softwoods, or a combination of the two. Some common hardwoods include birch, beech, acacia wood, mahogany, oak, and teak. The softwood used to make plywood is poplar, pine, and others.
Plywood Size:
The thickness range of Plywood board is from 3 mm to 38mm; some may produce 18mm, which is one common thickness, some may produce 30mm, 38mm, or more. Their application will be different. Although the core, the crossbands, and the face and back of a sheet of plywood may be made of different thickness veneers, the thickness of each must balance around the center. That can make sure the plywood quality is good.
The common size of plywood board is usually 4 ft (1.2 m) wide by 8 ft (2.4 m) long. Also, some special sizes like the width of 1700mm.
